André Rudman is a registered tourist guide with wide ranging interests and a wealth of experience. He is a specialist in the field of South African maritime history and the Eastern Cape frontier wars.
 
He retired as a Commodore from the South African Navy after 30 years full-time service. Served as a Rear-Admiral (Junior Grade) in the S.A. Naval Reserve for a further 10 years.
 
His experience since leaving the Navy includes service as General Manager of the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI), a partner in a small manufacturing business and a director in a Johannesburg-based training organisation involved in literacy and language training.
 
He qualified as a tourist guide after completing a course in 1995, and has since had experience with both small and large groups of international tourists. He has been used by the Navy to guide high-ranking VIP visitors, and is used by the Tourist Guide Institute to assist with the practical assesment of tourist guides.
  
As a driver/guide with a code EB Professional Driving Permit and with experience in the protection of VIP's, he is ideally suited for security-conscious visitors who demand a high standard of guiding. He excels in highly personalised tours for small groups requiring individual attention.

André runs Africa Discovery Tours in a most professional manner. All vehicles used are maintained in roadworthy condition with the necessary operating licences. Comprehensive and passenger liability insurance is maintained.
