The 3 days Mount Elgon hiking safari can be accompanied by a visit to the beautiful Sipi falls as well as community walks. Mount Elgon is an amazing feature found in the east of Uganda and also shared with Kenya, it is said to be the 4^th highest East African Mountain standing at 4,321M high, and it’s an extinct volcano with the main activity of hiking. The mountain is protected by Mount Elgon National Park. The mountain has several trails for hiking to the top. Also, different animal species like; elephants, forest monkeys, and small bird species live on the mountain. For a complete circuit hiking/trekking, it takes around 4 to 5 days.

3 Days Mount Elgon Hiking Safari Uganda Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 of the 3 Days Mountain Elgon Hiking Tour Uganda: Transfer to Sipi Falls in Mount Elgon National Park

Early in the morning after your breakfast at your hotel in Kampala, your experienced driver-guide will pick you up for transfer from Kampala to Mbale town and then continue to Sipi Falls in Mount Elgon National Park in Eastern Uganda.

You will also have a stopover en route to Namawojollo well known for roasted road chicken and roasted plantain is popularly known as Gonja. Other features to spot on your way include; mbira forest, tea plantations, Lake Victoria, River Nile, Owen falls dam, and Jinja town

At Mabira forest you can make a stopover. Here you will get a chance to see different tree species and take some pictures. You will have lunch en-route and will arrive in Mbale City early afternoon.

Go to the Uganda Wildlife Authority offices in Mbale town for registration and later transfer to Sipi Falls for your accommodation. Here you will have time for relaxation while hearing the sounds of the falls, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 2 of the 3 Days Mountain Elgon Climbing Tour Uganda: Hiking Mount Elgon

Wake up early in the morning and have breakfast. After breakfast, set out a packed lunch. Meet the park guides who will brief you and be ready to guide you through the trails in the mountains, there will also be porters that can help you carry your luggage just in case it’s heavy.

You will start with any trail such as Kapkwai, Kapkwata, or Budadiri Forest exploration Centre. During the hike, you will have a great adventurous time. Later, return to the hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight

Day 3 of the 3 Days Mountain Elgon Climbing Tour Uganda: Transfer Back to Kampala

Start your day with a lovely breakfast as you are ready to set off for Kampala. On your way, you will have a stopover in town and head to different attractions around such as Itanda Falls, Bujagali falls and the source of the Nile, Masese fish landing site, and jinja sailing club among others. Also, have your lunch there and continue to Kampala.
